Marination at the Tweetup of the Century
You can already smell the tasty tacos filling the streets of 7th Avenue toward Act Theatre. This was courtesy of Marination Mobile holding their “secret location” strong right across ACT Theatre, but the aroma definitely gave it away. The clue was “tofu”, and you knew the truck was the second stop with the crowd of tweeps heading their from Hotel Max fashioned with their name tags filled with twitter handles around.

All of this was part of the “Tweetup of the Century” on Thursday, brought to you by Hotel Max, ACT Theatre, and Marination Mobile. The idea is set up as a scavenger hunt leading to each of the locations while meeting much of the social media community along the way. Although I didn’t know anything about it beforehand, I was pleasently surprised to see some familiar faces (@c4mer0n, @schoeny, and @r_e_on_a).
More food trucks, or businesses in general, should be doing more things like this and utilizing Twitter to provide something new. Looking forward to seeing more of it in the future. But I got to admit, billing it the “Tweetup of the Century” was pretty ballsy — but it got the job done. I saw a growing group of 30-35 folks rolling into Marination before heading to ACT Theatre. I didn’t continue on the scavenger hunt, but from what I heard on Twitter — it was a fun one.
